Written to accompany the Royal Yachting Association's Day Skipper practical course, the five-day qualification for skippering a cruising yacht on short passages by day. It covers preparing the boat, handling under sail and under power, coming alongside, picking up a mooring and anchoring, pilotage and navigation in practice, weather, safety and looking after a crew.
