About the book

Written to accompany the six-part Foxtel History series of the same name, in which Sam Neill follows the track of James Cook's three Pacific voyages between 1768 and 1779. The book pairs the history of the voyages with the perspectives of the peoples Cook encountered, from Tahiti and Aotearoa to Australia, Tonga and Hawaii, and with Neill's own reflections from the journey.

Meaghan Wilson Anastasios is a Melbourne historian, writer and television producer who worked on the series.
