One Mile is the small boat harbour a kilometre south of the Dunwich ferry terminal, and the Yabby Street ramp inside it is the island's main public launch. Two concrete lanes at an eight per cent grade, a pontoon and a jetty, toilets and a water tap, and a car park of about seven trailer bays, which is the limitation, on an island where most boats live on moorings in the haven rather than on trailers. The state register lists it as usable on all tides.
The harbour is sheltered from the south-easterly and the water outside is the western side of Straddie: the Rainbow Channel north to Amity, the passage south to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, and Peel Island and the bay across the channel. Six knots applies inside the haven and around the moorings. Watch the ferries and water taxis at the Junner Street terminal.
Dunwich has fuel, a supermarket and the island's medical centre. Amity Point is the other public ramp on the island. Marine Rescue Queensland North Stradbroke Island monitors VHF 16.
