This is the beach ramp at Shingley Beach, on the Cannonvale side of the Coral Sea Marina breakwater, near the outrigger club. The state register lists it as a single lane at a nine per cent grade with no trailer parking at all, and the council's facility plan for the site describes it as a canoe ramp. That is the right way to think of it: a place to slide in a kayak, outrigger or car-top tinnie, not somewhere to reverse a trailer.
The water is the sheltered corner of Pioneer Bay behind the marina, so it is flat most mornings, and the beach itself is a pleasant place to rig and launch. Anyone with a trailer boat should carry on around to the Abell Point ramp (the "Coral Sea Marina Public Boat Ramp" on Google Maps), which has two lanes, a pontoon and 18 bays and is a few hundred metres away by road.
Six knots applies through the marina and moorings. Box jellyfish and Irukandji are in these waters from October to May; the council nets nearby Cannonvale Beach in season but the nets do not stop Irukandji.
