Donnybrook is a small fishing village on the mainland side of the Pumicestone Passage, north of Toorbul, and its ramp at the end of Grant Lane faces the caravan park. Two concrete lanes at an eight per cent grade with toilets, a tap and about 15 bays. The state register flags it as tide-limited, and regulars say the same: fine on most of the tide, a bit muddy at the bottom of a spring low.
It opens onto the upper Passage, the narrow, mangrove-lined water between the mainland and the top half of Bribie Island, with Mission Point and the Bribie national park camps across the channel and Caloundra reachable on a high tide in a small boat. The dugong go-slow zones and the sandbanks are the rules of the Passage; carry the Beacon to Beacon guide. Flathead, whiting, bream and mud crabs.
Toorbul, a few kilometres south, has two ramps and the 2015 floating walkway. Marine Rescue Queensland Bribie Island monitors VHF 16.
