Meldale is a rural locality of a couple of hundred people between Beachmere and Toorbul, and Way Street ends at Elimbah Creek, a mangrove-lined tidal creek that runs out to the southern Pumicestone Passage. The ramp is two concrete lanes at a ten per cent grade with toilets and a tap and parking on the unmarked ground around it. The state register lists it as usable on all tides, though the creek is narrow and muddy at the edges on a low spring.
It is a quiet launch for tinnies and kayaks: mud crabs and bream in the creek, flathead and whiting on the Passage flats once you are out, and Bribie Island and the Sandstone Point shore across the water. The creek mouth and the southern Passage are shallow and banked; keep to the channel markers and observe the dugong go-slow zones.
Toorbul (First Avenue and Freeman Road) to the north and Sandstone Point to the south are the bigger ramps. Marine Rescue Queensland Bribie Island monitors VHF 16.
