Toorbul is the fishing village on the mainland shore of the Pumicestone Passage opposite the middle of Bribie Island, and its Esplanade has two public ramps a short walk apart. First Avenue is the single-lane one, with toilets and a tap and a share of the 34-bay car park. The state register flags it as tide-limited: the Passage off Toorbul is a broad sand and seagrass flat that dries well out on a spring low, and the marked channel is some way off the beach.
Launch and come home on the top half. The Passage from here runs north to Donnybrook and the upper reaches and south to the bridge and Deception Bay, with Bribie's national park shore across the channel. Dugong go-slow zones apply along the seagrass. Flathead, whiting, bream and mud crabs; Toorbul is also famous for its kangaroos on the foreshore.
Freeman Road, a few hundred metres along the Esplanade, has two lanes and the floating walkway installed in 2015. Marine Rescue Queensland Bribie Island monitors VHF 16.
