Cabbage Tree Point is the spit of land at the end of the Steiglitz road, between the Logan mouth and Jacobs Well, and Charlie Hammel Park on its tip holds the ramp: three concrete lanes onto a sandy beach, toilets, barbecues and a playground, with about 18 marked bays and more along the road. The state register lists it as usable on all tides, and there is good room to manoeuvre a trailer. Reviewers rate it seven out of ten and describe it as very busy.
From the point the run is straight across to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands (Russell, Karragarra, Lamb and Macleay) and south down the Canaipa Passage to Jumpinpin and the top of the Broadwater, or north to Redland Bay. The flats and sand bars in this corner of the bay are the hazard; keep to the marked channels. Six knots applies off the park.
Jacobs Well, a few minutes south, has four lanes, a walkway and more than 100 bays; Alberton on the Logan is the quiet option. Marine Rescue Queensland Jacobs Well monitors VHF 16.
