Riedel Road is the Carbrook ramp the state register knows least about: it records a state-owned ramp managed by Logan City Council, a five-tonne load limit and nothing else, while the council's facility plan calls it a "boat ramp and floating walkway". The same stretch of riverbank is home to the commercial Carbrook boat ramp precinct described by Boat Gold Coast, a $10-entry ramp with a bait and tackle shop, a boat licensing centre, boat storage, a fibreglass bull shark on the shop roof and a wakeboard cable park, so check which ramp you are on before you back down.
The water is the sheltered middle Logan, a well-protected reach with a quick run downstream to the bay at the Logan mouth and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. Flathead, tailor, whiting, bream, mulloway and threadfin salmon are caught here, with mud crabs in the creeks, and dolphins come up the river in winter. Ski areas and six-knot zones are marked.
Skinners Park, a short way along the bank, is the council ramp with toilets and a marked car park. Marine Rescue Queensland Jacobs Well covers the lower river on VHF 16.
