Aquarium Passage is the tidal mouth of Bulimba Creek, entering the Brisbane River at Hemmant opposite Pinkenba, and the ramp at the end of Aquarium Avenue launches into it. The state register records a single lane with a pontoon and about five bays; council's own asset data calls it a two-lane ramp. Either way it is a small facility with no toilets or water, used by locals with tinnies and by kayakers working the creek. The state register lists it as usable on all tides.
From the passage it is a short run into the lower Brisbane River, with the port, the Gateway Bridge and the river mouth downstream and Colmslie upstream. Six knots applies in the passage and near the moorings; the river carries ships and tugs on this reach, so keep to the edges. Bulimba Creek upstream is bream and mud crab water.
Maritime Safety Queensland listed this ramp among the alternatives while the Whyte Island ramp is rebuilt in 2026. Colmslie has two lanes and more parking. Marine Rescue Queensland Brisbane monitors VHF 16.
