Queens Beach is the long eastern beach of Scarborough, and this ramp on Flinders Parade opposite Griffith Road is a beach launch in the old style: a single concrete lane at a ten per cent grade onto the sand, toilets and a tap across the road, and about six bays. The state register flags it as tide-limited, and the beach flattens out a long way at low water. It is also open to the north-east and east, so it is a calm-morning ramp for tinnies.
The reward is direct access to the eastern bay without the harbour: the Scarborough reef and the artificial reefs offshore, the Redcliffe foreshore south, and the run across to Moreton Island. Six knots applies along the beach near swimmers.
Scarborough Boat Harbour's two all-tide ramps (Bird O'Passage Parade and Thurecht Parade) are a few minutes north. Marine Rescue Queensland Redcliffe monitors VHF 16.
