The Thurecht Parade ramp is the western of the two public ramps in Scarborough Boat Harbour, reached down Thurecht Parade off Oyster Point Esplanade. Three concrete lanes at a ten per cent grade with a floating walkway and lighting, toilets and water, and a car park of about 120 bays, the largest on the peninsula. The state register lists it as usable on all tides, and the harbour's breakwaters keep the ramp sheltered in weather that closes the beach ramps.
It shares the harbour with the marina, the boat club and the Marine Rescue base, so six knots applies throughout and the channel is busy on weekends. Out through the entrance the northern bay opens: Moreton Island across the Freeman Channel, the reefs off Scarborough and Redcliffe, and Bribie and the Passage to the north-west. The entrance can stand up on an ebb against a northerly. Transport and Main Roads' 2024 draft master plan retains the public ramp and trailer parking.
The eastern ramp on Bird O'Passage Parade has four lanes and 76 bays. Marine Rescue Queensland Redcliffe is based in the harbour and monitors VHF 16.
