Seaforth is the beach town 45 km north of Mackay, and Victor Creek, on the Port Newry road just north of it, is the region's second big ramp after the marina: four concrete lanes with floating walkways, an all-tide creek, and enough parking that the overflow only spills onto the road on the best winter weekends. In 2020 council spent about $950,000 repairing the floating walkway and expanding the car park (the "stage 3" car park), and in early 2022 added solar LED lighting and CCTV.
Victor Creek is short and deep, and the run out past Port Newry to the Newry Islands and Rabbit Island is a few kilometres; Cape Hillsborough is to the south and the outer islands and reef within trailer-boat range on a good day. It is the launch for the Newry Islands National Park camping areas.
Seaforth has a beachfront council camping ground, a bowls club, a store and toilets, and a stinger-netted swimming enclosure in season. Marine Rescue Queensland Mackay monitors VHF 16. Crocodiles are present in the creek; stinger season is October to May.
