Isle of Capri is the canal island in the Nerang River behind Surfers Paradise, and its ramp on Naples Avenue is a single concrete lane with about six bays, no turning space to speak of and nothing to tie a boat to. The river runs hard past it on both the flood and the ebb, and that current is what gives the ramp its reputation: the reviewers score it two or three out of ten and describe it as a ramp for experienced operators only.
The state register lists it as usable on all tides, and it has one advantage: it is in the middle of the canal system, with the Surfers reach, the Broadwater and the Nerang upstream all within a six-knot cruise. For most people, Proud Park at Main Beach or the Broadbeach Waters ramp are easier launches for the same water.
