Proud Park sits where the Nerang River meets the Broadwater, on the Main Beach side beside the Southport Yacht Club and Marina Mirage. The ramp is two concrete lanes with a pontoon, toilets and a tap, and a car park of about 37 rigs, one of the better-equipped ramps in the south of the Broadwater and the natural alternative when the Spit ramps or Broadwater Parklands are full. The state register lists it as usable on all tides.
The water is busy. The river mouth carries the yacht club, the marina, the Sea World boats and every vessel coming down the Nerang from Surfers, and six knots applies through the whole precinct. Out in front is the Broadwater, with Wave Break Island and the Seaway a couple of kilometres north; upstream the Nerang winds through the Surfers Paradise canals.
Gold Coast Waterways Authority listed Proud Park among the alternative ramps while it repaired Broadwater Parklands in 2025. Marine Rescue Queensland Southport, based at the Seaway, monitors VHF 16 and 73.
