Awoonga Avenue is a quiet residential street on the Burleigh side of Tallebudgera Creek, and the ramp at the end of it is about as basic as a public ramp gets: one narrow concrete lane between rocks, no jetty, no toilets, and parking on the street among the residents' cars. The state register flags it as tide-limited, and the creek here is shallow at low water. A 2021 review of every Gold Coast ramp gave it two out of ten and wondered whether anyone used it.
It suits a tinnie or a kayak carried down from a car, and not much else. For Tallebudgera Creek with a trailer, use Murlong Crescent on the Palm Beach side, which was rebuilt with a floating walkway in 2024 and has 12 bays and toilets. Personal watercraft are banned on Tallebudgera Creek.
The creek is one of the better bream and flathead waters on the coast, with jack in the snags upstream and a six-knot limit for most of its length. Marine Rescue Queensland Gold Coast monitors VHF 16.
