Thrower Drive is the main ramp on Currumbin Creek, on the Palm Beach side a few hundred metres inside the creek mouth. Two concrete lanes at a ten per cent grade, sandy beaches either side to hold a boat on, and the full set of facilities: toilets, water, a fish cleaning table, tackle bins and a shower. Parking is about 45 bays with more on the street, though there is no separate rigging area: you pull up to the ramp and set up there.
The state register flags the ramp as tide-limited. The creek entrance is a shifting sand bar under the Currumbin headland, and at low water it is shallow both at the ramp and at the mouth; the bar itself is only crossed in good conditions, with a run of a few hundred metres to open ocean. For most users the creek is the destination: bream, flathead, whiting, jack and trevally in the clear water, and a lot of jet ski traffic on weekends.
Winders Park on the Currumbin bank is the small alternative. Marine Rescue Queensland Currumbin is based nearby and monitors VHF 16 and bar conditions.
