Skinners Park is a council reserve on the Carbrook side of the Logan, linked by the Logan River trail to Riedel Park upstream. The ramp is a single concrete lane at a ten per cent grade with toilets, a tap and about 12 bays, enough for a weekday, tight on a Sunday. The state register lists it as usable on all tides, and the river is deep off the bank here.
This is the sheltered middle reach of the Logan, well protected from wind, with a run of about 10 km downstream past Alberton to the river mouth and the southern bay. It fishes for flathead, bream, whiting, jack and threadfin salmon, and the side creeks hold mud crabs. Ski zones and six-knot areas are marked along the river; watch for ski boats on weekends.
Riedel Road is the other Carbrook ramp, alongside a commercial launch; Eagleby downstream has two lanes and 45 bays. Marine Rescue Queensland Jacobs Well covers the lower river on VHF 16.
