Coochiemudlo is the small island two kilometres off Victoria Point, and this ramp on its southern shore is both the island's public boat ramp and the landing for the Amity Trader vehicle barge. The original ramp was built by islanders more than fifty years ago; Redland City Council demolished it in 2018 and built a replacement for over $1 million, with guiding pylons to hold the barge in strong winds, keeping the island supplied from a temporary matting ramp during the works.
For a trailer boat it is a single concrete lane with a pontoon alongside, toilets and a tap, and informal parking. Give way to the barge, as it runs a timetable and needs the ramp clear, and expect the pontoon to be busy with tinnies and the island's own boats. The state register lists it as usable on all tides. The water is the channel between Coochiemudlo and Victoria Point, with Macleay Island and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands to the south and Peel Island and the bay to the north-east, all across sand and mud that dries on the low.
