Macleay is the second-largest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with a population above 3,000, and it has two public ramps. Dalpura is the northern one, on Dalpura Bay facing Coochiemudlo and Victoria Point: a single concrete lane with about ten bays, toilets and a tap, and no walkway. The state register flags it as tide-limited, as the bay is shallow and the mud flats dry out on the low, so it is a top-half-of-the-tide launch for anything with draught.
It is the quieter of the two ramps and the closer one to the northern water: Coochiemudlo, Peel Island and the bay beyond, with Victoria Point and the mainland ramps a short run west. The southern ramp at Russell Terrace, by the ferry terminal, has two lanes, a pontoon and a floating walkway and is the better choice in a bigger boat or on a low tide.
