Moores Road is the older, smaller Redland Bay ramp on the Esplanade foreshore just north of Weinam Creek: a single concrete lane at a ten per cent grade with toilets, a tap and about five bays of its own. The state register flags it as tide-limited, and the sand and mud in front of the Esplanade dry well out on a spring low, so it is a top-half-of-the-tide launch for anything but a tinnie carried over the flats.
Its importance grew in November 2024 when the new Weinam Creek public ramp opened with 40 trailer bays connected to the Moores Road car park; the all-tide launch and the queuing pontoon are now a short walk away, and this ramp serves the small boats and the overflow. The water is the same: the sheltered passage to Karragarra, Macleay and Russell islands, six knots around the ferry terminal.
