Colman Road runs out through the cane and cattle country north of Coomera to a reserve on McCoys Creek, a tributary of the Pimpama River. The ramp is a single concrete lane with a steep approach and a single turning bay, so only one vehicle can launch or retrieve at a time, and the parking is an unformed gravel area where trailers back into the scrub because the bays are short. A 2021 review scored it four out of ten for exactly those reasons.
The attraction is what it reaches. The Pimpama River winds out to the southern end of Moreton Bay near Jacobs Well, and from there it is the Jumpinpin bar, the back of South Stradbroke and the islands, with far less traffic than the Broadwater ramps. The state register lists the ramp as usable on all tides, though the creek is narrow and muddy at low water.
Jacobs Well, a few kilometres on, has four lanes, a floating walkway and more than a hundred bays if the single lane here is in use. Marine Rescue Queensland Jacobs Well monitors VHF 16.
