Jabiru Island is the island Oxley Drive crosses between Hope Island and Paradise Point, and the ramp is on its southern side facing Coombabah Creek. Two concrete lanes, a car park of about 30 rigs with room to drive around rather than reverse, and toilets. The foreshore is mangrove and mud rather than sand, so there is no beach to hold a boat on, but the water is still and well protected, and the state register lists the ramp as usable on all tides.
Coombabah Creek runs out past Boykambil to the Coomera mouth and the Broadwater, with six-knot zones around the canal estates and the moorings. Upstream the creek narrows into the Coombabah wetlands, a quiet stretch for tinnies and kayaks with bream, flathead and jack along the mangroves.
It is a good weekday ramp and less crowded than Paradise Point's harbour ramp a few minutes away, which has three lanes and a walkway. Marine Rescue Queensland Southport monitors VHF 16 and 73.
