Freshwater Point is a small beach community of under 200 people about 15 km east of Sarina, on the coast between Sarina Beach and Cape Palmerston. The ramp is a single concrete lane off Miran Kahn Drive, with a parking area that takes about 25 car-trailer rigs, only some of it marked, and no toilets or water. The state register flags it as tide-limited, which on this coast means the bottom of the tide is mud and the top half is when you launch.
From here the water is the open Sarina coast rather than a creek: Cape Palmerston National Park to the south, the offshore shoals and islands, and the run north to Sarina Beach and Hay Point. Mackerel, coral trout and reef fish offshore, and the usual salmon and barramundi in the creeks either side. There is nothing at the point but houses, so fuel and supplies come from Sarina.
