Sarina Beach is the holiday village 12 km east of Sarina, and the ramp is at the southern end of the beach under Perpetua Point, off Sunset Drive. It is the pick of the ramps south of Hay Point: two concrete lanes, toilets and a water tap, and a shared car park with room for about 32 rigs. There is no floating walkway. The state register flags it as tide-limited, so the bottom of a big low is sand in front of the ramp; the top half of the tide is the working window, which on this coast with its six-metre springs still gives a generous day.
The point gives some shelter from the south-easterly, and the launch is straight into open water rather than a creek. From here it is a short run north to Hay Point and the Half Tide harbour, south past Freshwater Point to Cape Palmerston, and offshore to the shoals, islands and reef when the wind allows. Mackerel, coral trout, sweetlip and nannygai offshore; the town has a store, a hotel and fuel.
