Holly Avenue and Jasmine Avenue are two quiet residential streets in Hollywell that each end in a small ramp onto the western shore of the Broadwater, about 100 m apart. Holly Avenue's is a single narrow lane at a steep 15 per cent grade, with a sandy beach beside it, a public toilet on the left and very limited parking on the street.
It suits small boats and people learning to launch: the street is quiet, the beach is easy to hold a boat against, and the water in front is sheltered Broadwater. The limitation is depth. The state register flags it as tide-limited, and the sand flats and rocks off Hollywell are a problem from mid tide down, so the half tide up is the working window.
From here the Broadwater runs north to the Coomera mouth and Jumpinpin and south to the Seaway, with six-knot zones around the moorings and canals. Runaway Bay Marina is nearby for fuel. For lanes and parking, Paradise Point or the Spit ramps are the alternatives. Marine Rescue Queensland Southport monitors VHF 16 and 73.
