Kings Beach is Caloundra's surf beach under the headland, and the Margaret Street ramp is a small council ramp on the sheltered western side of the point, where the Passage meets the bar. A single concrete lane at a ten per cent grade with a tap and about four bays. The state register flags it as tide-limited; the sand off the ramp dries at low water and the channel is some distance out.
It is used by tinnies and small boats heading into the northern Passage or, in settled weather, out over the Caloundra bar to the ocean grounds, a bar that has moved and changed since the Bribie breakthrough of 2022 and that Marine Rescue Queensland Caloundra monitors closely. Six knots applies around the point and the swimmers. Tailor and bream at the bar, flathead and whiting inside.
