Nudgee Beach is the small bayside settlement at the mouth of the Kedron Brook Floodway, and Tuckeroo Park holds the northside's main ramp. Transport and Main Roads widened it in 2016 to add a lane and a floating walkway; it is now four non-slip concrete lanes with pontoons, toilets, water and about 46 bays, and council lists it as one of its eight river and recreation hubs. The state register rates it usable on all tides.
The floodway is the qualification. It is a dredged channel across the Nudgee flats, and on a big low there is not much water in it or over the bar at its mouth; regulars time the retrieve for the rising tide. Six knots applies in the floodway. Outside is Bramble Bay and the northern end of Moreton Bay: the Pine River mouth and Redcliffe to the north, the Brisbane River mouth and the port to the south, and Mud Island and the shipping channel to the east. Flathead, bream and whiting on the flats; the Boondall Wetlands behind the ramp are a bird sanctuary.
Shorncliffe's Sinbad Street harbour ramp is the other northside launch. Marine Rescue Queensland Brisbane monitors VHF 16.
