Cabbage Tree Creek Boat Harbour is the state boat harbour behind Shorncliffe, home to the Sandgate trawler fleet and the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club, and the Sinbad Street ramp on its northern bank is the largest launch on Brisbane's north side. Four wide concrete lanes at an eight per cent grade with a pontoon down the middle, fish cleaning tables, water and a car park that the state register puts at about 170 bays. The register rates it usable on all tides, and the harbour and creek are dredged.
The creek gives good protection from wind, so launching is easy in weather that makes the open foreshore ramps unpleasant. Six knots applies throughout the creek and harbour, and the trawlers have priority in the channel. Out of the creek mouth the water is Bramble Bay, with the Pine River and Redcliffe to the north, Nudgee Beach and the Brisbane River to the south, and Mud Island and the northern bay to the east.
Jetty Street, upstream, is the small two-lane alternative with toilets. Marine Rescue Queensland Brisbane monitors VHF 16.
