The Oxenford ramp is on the Coomera River just west of the M1 bridge, reached from Michael Shelley Way off the old highway. It was a split two-lane ramp with a central pontoon; in September–November 2023 Gold Coast Waterways Authority widened it by four metres to add a third lane and installed a new pontoon on the western side. The car park takes about 49 rigs with one-way traffic, and there are no toilets or water at the ramp.
The foreshore is gravel rather than sand, which makes pulling a boat up awkward, and the river here passes through several six-knot zones before it opens out downstream past Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island to the Broadwater. Upstream the Coomera is shallow and rocky towards Upper Coomera. The state register lists the ramp as usable on all tides.
It is the workhorse ramp for the upper Coomera and a busy one on ski weekends. Tallawood Road, downstream at Coomera, is the single-lane alternative. Marine Rescue Queensland Gold Coast monitors VHF 16.
