The Ray Street ramp is at Lands End, where Biggera Creek meets the Broadwater at the southern edge of Runaway Bay, beside the Bayview Street roundabout. It is a single narrow concrete lane with a sandy beach, toilets and a tap, and about 11 bays. The road traffic through the roundabout is the thing first-time users notice: reversing a trailer here in the Saturday rush is not relaxing.
It is a ramp for small boats and jet skis heading into the Biggera Creek and Runaway Bay canals or across the Broadwater to South Stradbroke, and it is a quieter option on weekends than the Spit or Broadwater Parklands. The state register lists it as usable on all tides. Six-knot zones apply through the creek, the canals and around Runaway Bay Marina, which has fuel.
Howard Street to the north is smaller and worse; Paradise Point's harbour ramp is the nearest with lanes and a walkway. Marine Rescue Queensland Southport monitors VHF 16 and 73.
