The Albert River joins the Logan a few kilometres above the Logan's mouth, and the Patterson Road ramp at Yatala is the one public launch on it. It is a single concrete lane with about ten bays and nothing else (no toilets, no water, no lighting), surrounded by parkland and industrial estates. A 2021 review of every Gold Coast ramp gave it two out of ten, mainly for the lack of facilities and because navigation apps direct drivers to the opposite side of the river.
The state register lists it as usable on all tides. The river here is narrow, muddy and tidal, sheltered from any wind, and it is a tinnie and kayak water: bream, flathead and jack along the snags, mud crabs in the side creeks, and the run down to the Logan and out to the bay for those with the patience. Six knots applies through the built-up reaches.
