Karragarra is the smallest of the inhabited Southern Moreton Bay Islands, a few hundred people on a long thin island between Macleay and Lamb. Its ramp is on the Esplanade on the north-western shore, next to the swimming enclosure and the picnic lawn, on what is generally reckoned the best beach of the four islands. It is a single concrete lane with a pontoon, a water tap, and parking wherever there is room along the Esplanade; council also lists it as a combined facility, so the island's barge uses the foreshore.
The state register flags the ramp as tide-limited. The channels between the islands are deep but the flats off every shore dry at low water and the sand bars in this part of the bay are notorious, so use the Beacon to Beacon guide and ask a local before you head off. From the ramp the run is across to Redland Bay on the mainland, around to Macleay and Lamb, or south down the Canaipa Passage.
