This is the busier of Macleay's two ramps and the better equipped: two concrete lanes at an eight per cent grade, a floating walkway on the ramp and a separate pontoon, all beside the passenger ferry jetty and the vehicle barge landing on the island's southern shore. The state register lists it as usable on all tides, which on these islands is the exception rather than the rule. Parking is shared with the terminal and fills on ferry days; the register records no separate trailer count.
The water is the channel between Macleay and Lamb, deep in the marked channel and dry on the flats either side at low water. Give the ferries and barge a wide berth, as they run to a timetable and the barge needs room to swing, and six knots applies through the terminal area. From here Redland Bay on the mainland is a short run west, Karragarra and Lamb are minutes away, and the Canaipa Passage leads south towards Russell Island and Jumpinpin.
